Amy was born in New York and raised in Seoul, South Korea. She attended international schools and often traveled the world with her family, sparking a lifelong interest in different cultures and developing a sophisticated eye for design from a young age. As a child, she dreamed of becoming an architect and interior designer. Before pursuing this dream, Amy obtained a BA in political science at Wellesley College, as well as an MA in East Asian Studies at Harvard University. After several years in politics with the United Nations and Capitol Hill, Amy returned to her initial childhood dream. She joined White Webb, an award-winning interior design firm based in New York City. There she trained under Matthew White, an AD 100 designer, and Frank Webb, the modernist of the design duo.
In 2014, Amy launched Amy Young Designs, now the Young Design Group LLC. Her versatile design sensibility has transformed spaces ranging from Manhattan pied-à-terres, Palm Beach getaways, homes in the suburbs of New York City and beyond. Amy stands as one of the most sought-after designers among notable athletes, luxury brand corporations, CEO’s, and most discerning clients. Renowned for her sophisticated signature style, she continues to push creative boundaries through her design approach and execution.
